Acupuncture can be a deeply relaxing experience, while also relieving pain, reducing stress and enhancing overall well being.
Curious about what to expect for your initial acupuncture visit? Don't sweat it, we’ll walk you through it — step by step!

Your initial visit is in two parts: Part 1 entails a phone or video conversation with your Practitioner for a full health history review of current symptoms, concerns and long-term health goals. This also gives you and the Practitioner a chance to establish a good rapport and for any burning questions you may have.

Part 2 takes place in our clinic, and includes a physical assessment, any additional intake needed and a full treatment session. Your treatment session may include some combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, therapeutic bodywork or lifestyle and nutritional recommendations.

Other therapies - such as far-Infrared light, electrostimulation, gua sha, cupping, ear seeds, etc. - may be integrated as appropriate.

Treatments can vary greatly, depending on your individual needs and your specific health considerations.

Acupuncture is most often painless, although there it is normal to experience some mild sensation at the site of insertion (i.e. pinching, tingling, muscle sensation, warmth, etc.).

Once the needles are placed in the body, we ensure the patient is warm (i.e. heat or infrared therapy), lower the treatment room lights, leave soft music playing in the background and let the patient rest comfortably during their session.

In general Acupuncture a deeply relaxing experience, and many drift off to sleep during their treatment. Most people look forward to this time to simply relax and restore during an otherwise hectic day and generally feel refreshed afterward.
