Phil is a Nationally Board-Certified, New York and New Jersey State–Licensed Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. His work is grounded in both modern medical research and the classical foundations of Chinese Medicine, offering patients an integrative, whole-person approach to health and healing.

Phil’s academic and clinical training includes a multi-year fellowship at Mt. Sinai–Beth Israel Medical Center, where he provided in-patient care across a broad range of departments, including Orthopedic Surgery & Rehabilitation, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Pain and Palliative Care, and Neurology.

Drawing from this extensive hospital experience, Phil oversees programs in Physical Conditioning, Injury Management, and Surgical Readiness and Recovery, with specialized treatment plans designed for beginning and professional Athletes. His expertise includes both chronic and acute musculoskeletal injuries, as well as pre- and post-surgical recovery and rehabilitation.

Beyond orthopedic and sports medicine, Phil treats a wide range of general health conditions - from everyday stress, anxiety, and fatigue to complex neurological and internal medical concerns such as Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, insomnia, and digestive disorders.

As a Certified Zheng Gu Tui Na Practitioner, Phil brings a deep understanding of body mechanics and manual therapy to his practice. Zheng Gu Tui Na uses precise, gentle manipulations of muscles, joints, and tendons to restore balance and promote natural healing. This hands-on approach is complemented by corrective exercises and topical herbal therapies, including poultices, plasters, and liniments, to enhance recovery and minimize the need for pharmaceuticals.

Phil has also developed customized programs for New Athletes beginning their fitness journeys, helping them navigate the physical challenges of training safely and effectively. For Professional Athletes, he provides specialized support for event preparation, peak performance, and post-Season recovery - helping them maintain balance, resilience, and long-term wellness.

At Mt. Sinai–Beth Israel Medical Center, Phil designed the Acupuncture Protocols for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation and served as Lead Acupuncturist for a Peri-Operative Spine Study, in collaboration with the Department of Integrative Medicine at the Center for Health & Healing and The Spine Institute of New York.

Through his integrative and evidence-informed approach, Phil is dedicated to helping each patient achieve optimal health, recovery, and performance - restoring balance to both body and mind.
